Artist Jo Stephens has lived from California to Washington D.C. but chose Key West in 1991 to pursue her passion for painting.  She is a self-taught artist and has been commissioned for several paintings that currently hang in private homes and businesses alike.  She began painting on glassware to celebrate the Millennium and it proved to be so popular that she now does it full time. Her unique style of hand painted glassware can be found here on the Web or at one of her shows and her inspiration comes from her love for the Southernmost Island - Key West.

Key West and the Lower Keys were my home for 14 years. Living there gave me the freedom to grow artistically and spiritually and I will always have fond memories of her sunsets, waterscapes, and people.  But the smallest of islands seemed to be shrinking more each year as the tourist season brought in the crowds that became stifling, so it was time for a change.

Rick and I sold our house and have moved upstate to Old Town, just a few miles from the beautiful Suwannee River. I have a new larger studio and have resumed painting glassware in my usual Key West style.  I hope you will enjoy using these pieces in the spirit with which they were created - to have fun!
